| Clippers Hear about Santa Cruz Island At their monthly dinner meeting, the Clippers heard a presentation by Clay Downing, the Hospitality Host for the Santa Cruz Island Preserve, a program of the Nature Conservancy. Showing beautiful photos of this wonderful resource just off our coast, Clay gave an interesting and informative presentation. LIFE OF THE CHURCH THE FLOWERS this morning are dedicated by the Flower Guild in loving memory of Barbara Goodall. We will purchase gifts for each family member, certificates for food and even Christmas decorations. If you wish to participate, please call Geri (455-8190). Help us share the love of God with Santa Barbara. Monthly Financial Report Our church is dependent upon our pledges and donations to do God's work in our congregation, community and the world. As has been reported in recent Congregational meetings and in the annual report, our expenses have exceeded our income for the past several years. The following report will be provided monthly to assure that members of the congregation are aware of the need for additional operating income in the near future. In the meantime, shortfalls in income from donations and other sources will be covered by the use of reserve funds which have been built up over previous years. Church Operating Fund*, 2007 thru September Income: $ 739,398 Expenses: $ 931,872 Difference: $(192,474) *Does not include income or expenses of the Early Childhood Center AN OUTSIDER'S PERSPECTIVE ON HONOR AND SHAME. Bob Blincoe is U.S Director of Frontiers, a mission organization serving Muslims in the name of Jesus. In his workshop Bob will discuss "honor" and "shame" and so help us to understand peoples and events in the Middle East. Sign up now for his workshop while registering for SB Presbytery's Mission Conference on Saturday, January 19.
