Thanks, Fred, for sharing your vast knowledge and experience in this complex field. This was also the meeting to elect the new officers for 2008. Congratulations to the new Board!

FPC "FEBRUARY" STEP-A-THON Join in as we step forward into 2008 with our pedometers and make walking a commitment to your heath and wellness routine. Mark your total steps each week on the Step-A-Thon Chart in the reception office. Over the next four weeks we’ll see how our steps have improved and how you can be on your way to better health. Parish Nurse Sharon Troll has pedometers for sale. They are easy to use and read, no fancy calculations or set up for they only count steps. You may call Sharon at 687-0754, ext. 103 for more information.

“PER CAPITA APPORTIONMENT” WHAT IS IT? All members of Presbyterian churches share equally and responsibly in the costs of national, regional and local headquarters. How? By paying their Per Capita apportionment. For 2008 that amount is $27.70 per member. Paying our utility bills keeps us connected to the utility systems so that we can benefit from the services provided. Similarly, paying our Per Capita keeps the Presbyterian system functioning, and keeps us connected! Most donations to First Presbyterian Church are spent for operating the church and the missions we support. The Per Capita Apportionment is small compared to the overall budget. But that $27.70 adds up! Please consider writing that extra check along with your regular offering. You may note on it “Per Capita Offering”. Thank you.

THANK YOU TO EACH OF OUR FLOWER DONORS who have helped to make our Sanctuary so beautiful. We appreciate all of our donors who have honored loved ones for special occasions. To celebrate a birthday or anniversary, remember a loved one or commemorate an event, stop by the reception desk to check the Flower Book for available dates in 2008 and call Juleine at 687-0754 or Lynn at 687-7095; or use a reservation form from the book. Cost: $40 for 1 bouquet, $65 for two. Lynn Handloser, Worship and Music Ministry.

THE PRAYER CHAIN is available to pray for your needs. In the Narthex and Fireside Lounge are Prayer Boxes provided by the Congregational Care Ministry. Please fill out a request form and leave it in the box, email Chuck at: ccurtis@fpcsb.org or call 687-0754, x 102. All prayer requests are kept confidential.
