IMPACT Journeys IMPACT Journeys begin with Cross Training (June 23rd – 27th) - four days of personal and team preparation and cross-cultural sensitivity training at Ranch La Scherpa. Four teams are going out this summer. Please remember these teams in prayer. UGANDA : The team will return to Jinja, Uganda, to work with YWAM. They will help with a construction project for the Dayspring Elementary School and will share in worship in local churches, play and work with children in the community. They will also help with outreach visits to the sick. Jessica Fengel – Ojai; Sandy Dinkler, Dolores Taylor – Ventura; Arlin Edmondson, Elias Taylor – Ventura; Gabrielle Young - Newbury Par k; Brianne Grothe – Lompoc; Brittany Laurie, Cheryl Doyle - Simi Valley; Gerald Cobian - Fillmore; Sarah Millard, Solvang HONDURA S : Impact is invited this year to join again in sharing the Gospel through music, drama, and crafts with school children in the cities and in rural areas in the highlands of Honduras. They will also hold a full day camp in Tella and participate in a midweek youth gathering. Jonathan & Kristy La Barg, Rebekah Casas - Ojai; Justine Bennett - Thousand Oaks; Jenny Sirianni - Carpinteria; Pamela Gilbert, Elizabeth Poucher – Montecito; Carol Greeby - Ventura; Kevin Weeks - Newbury Park ROMANIA: Impact team will work with VIATA, a ministry to youth in the mountain village of Straja, Romania. We will work to support a summer camp for middle school aged children, where they are taught outdoor skills, rock and rope climbing, and Christian values. There will be some painting and maintenance work to help improve the camp. Bill Randolph, Heather Bird, Jared Del Dosso, Kyle Reynolds, Camden Butler, Brandon Hay - Thousand Oaks; Mallory Farrar, Erin Blackburn, Newbury Park; Grant Cooper, Montecito TURKEY: Our partners in Turkey work on the Mediterranean coast in the city and suburbs of Antalya, in a country where 98% of people are Muslim This project includes working with developmentally disabled youth, ages 8 to 18, through arts and crafts, sports, horse therapy, swimming in a camp setting and ministering to the local women of Kepez sorting clothes, cooking and sharing crafts. As has been reported in recent Congregational meetings and in the annual report, our expenses have exceeded our income for the past several years. The following report will be provided monthly to assure that members of the congregation are aware of the need for additional operating income in the near future. In the meantime, shortfalls in income from donations and other sources will be covered by the use of reserve funds which have been built up over previous years.
