| PresbyFolks Enjoys English Dancing and Dinner On Sunday, June 22nd, the PresbyFolks activity for the month was to have dinner in the CFC followed by English Contra Dancing demonstrations and lessons. Our own Business Administrator, Alice Williams, has had an interest in Contra Dancing for many years and currently serves as a "caller" at weekly dances in Santa Barbara. She gave us clear lessons on a variety of steps and combinations, and we actually learned to do many different dances. We were all very pleasantly amazed at our successes and are very grateful to Alice for her patience and clear instructions. We also thank her husband Dave who ran the sound. For information on how you can become involved with future PresbyFolks activities, please call Juleine. .![]() .![]() .![]() |
| Presbyterian Women Learn about Immigration Issues On Monday, June 23rd, the Presbyterian Women heard from Dr. Cheri Hoeckley, an English professor at Westmont, who told her story of adopting two girls from Guatemala and the difficulties she has encountered in negotiating the somewhat labyrinthian legal system. Her story was an inspiring one and showed how one's faith can sustain one even in very difficult trials. She was joined by adopted daughter Diana Villanueva, who graduated from Westmont in May. The dinner preceding the talk was another tribute to Chef Kay's genius! .![]() .![]() |

Each week it features timely speakers or movies, exercises, games, health tips, delicious lunch, and even a joke exchange.
