LIFE OF THE CHURCH

THE FLOWERS this morning are dedicated by John Kerman in loving memory of his wife, Evalyn. Following worship the Deacons will take the flowers to those who are ill or homebound.

ADULT EDUCATION Sunday, July 6, We’ll sing “Hymns, Psalms & Praise Songs” in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd. Next Sunday, July 12 at 9 AM in Anderson Lounge - join Dr. Michael Shasberger for “Hymns, Psalms & Praise Songs: Why Do We Need All Three?”

CHURCH HISTORY BRIEFS by Virginia Chennell Two Church Love Stories  -  Among the unique church history stories is this one about two couples who met their future spouses at our church. This was at the Koko Club (Keep on Keeping On) for single young people started by Rev. Joe Ewing after World War II. Both these couples were married in the old McLean Memorial Chapel on Anapamu Street. They raised their children in our church and continue to be very active members of the congregation. Can you guess who they are? … OK, They are: Dorothy and George Dubbels and Betty and Sam Kimbel. Congratulate them when you see them for a half century of love and faithfulness.

SUMMER MISSION PROJECT – Our Sunday School children have elected to put together health/hygiene kits for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to distribute to those in need. You can help by purchasing items to go in the kits. See insert for the needs list. Look for the special box on the patio or in the reception office. For more information call Susan or Chuck at the church: 687-0754.

THE PRAYER CHAIN is available to pray for your needs. In the Narthex and Fireside Lounge are Prayer Boxes provided by the Congregational Care Ministry. Please place a request form in the box, email Chuck at: ccurtis@fpcsb.org or call 687-0754 x102. Requests are kept confidential.
