PresbyFolks Tours Christmas Lights and Carols to Members
On December 10, the monthly PresbyFolks activity was to ride in the church van to view the beautiful lights of Christmas in Santa Barbara, to share our joy in this wonderful season with members who are at retirement/skilled nursing facilities, and to enjoy a few cookies. The "cost" of the activity was at least three dozen cookies per person, and these were packaged and delivered to the Rescue Mission. The January PresbyFolks activity will be to attend the Annual Mission Conference. Find out more information here.

Where are they now?
Are you the parent or friend of one of the many Baby Boomer Generation Kids (roughly 1942-1964) who were active at First Presbyterian Church (a BBGFPK)? Or, perhaps, you are a BBGFPK. Help us build a display for our February celebration by submitting a signed current picture, with notes on career, family, and current living location. Optional: You may also include a small picture of “then”. (Note: For those who are deceased, please submit a picture with the year of death, along with any career, family, and living location information.)
Important: Please clearly print the name(s) of the individual on the envelope in which you submit the photograph (indicate name then and name now if different), and include return address information if you want the picture back.
Also, please be certain to invite your BBGFPK to our February 14th Jukebox Saturday Night.

PEANUT BUTTER NUMBERS ARE IN! As of Wednesday evening Reese and Tessa counted roughly 214 pounds which translates to: 3047 peanut butter sandwiches; 6000 spoonfuls or celery dips; 5,112 peanut butter cookies; and many, many satisfied tummies. Jars of peanut butter are still coming in. What a generous congregation!
THE FLOWERS this morning are dedicated by Jack Hoag in loving memory of his
mother Irene Green. The flowers are also dedicated by Han-Sun Gotschall in
loving memory of her late husband. The flowers will be taken to those who
are ill or homebound and unable to attend worship. Many spaces are open for
flower dedications in 2009. Check the book.
ADULT EDUCATION for December 21 at 9 a.m. - "On the Road to Bethlehem" led
by the Rev. Susan Copeland. In the busyness of the "holiday" season, it's
easy to forget the road we're called to travel in this season of Advent, a
time of preparation for the holy one in our minds and hearts. Explore our
traditions and all who have helped mark the way to our own encounter with
the Christ child.
THE CHRISTMAS JOY OFFERING will be received today, December 21. Half of this
offering goes to support active or retired ministers with unexpected
financial needs, the other half to students at one of our historically Black
or Hispanic colleges. Thanks to your past gifts, both of these ministries
remain strong.

their workshop in the next S.B. Presbytery Missions Conference, which will
take place Saturday, January 17, at FPC. Register now by picking up a
brochure or going to www.sbmissionconference.org.

this year by our Mission Team! Look for our "Christmas tree of gifts" in the
reception area throughout December.
