Kidney Needed!! Calling all healthy men and women. I (being Lea Williams) need one of your kidneys. Just takes one. You’ll be healthy with one… and so will I. As it is now, I waste about ten hours a week in dialysis. And dialysis is no substitute to a healthy kidney or two. I take a host of drugs to try to replicate what a single kidney would do beautifully. Further, consider that about 4,000 of our fellow Americans died last year, each one waiting for a kidney donor who never showed up. I’m asking you to show up. Now. Please call me with your questions: 965.8510. And please pray, asking God to let you know if this is what he wishes you to do. Thank you. Lea |

Santa Barbara Rescue Mission The Santa Barbara Rescue Mission has a 12-month residential drug and alcohol treatment program. A component of this is the Learning Center, which provides individualized academic instruction for the residents of the program. Volunteer positions are open for teaching and tutoring. Mentors are also needed to form personal relationships with the residents. There is an urgent need for mentors in the men’s program—currently we are down to five mentors for the 50 men who are enrolled in the program. The Mission needs participants in their new Ministry of Presence program for their homeless guest services. Volunteers will contribute relationally to those who are in need of a sense of value, acceptance, and community. Our next Orientation/Volunteer Training Session will be held on Saturday, April 11, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 535 E. Yanonali St. Please RSVP to Sherry at 966-1316 ext. 612. |

It was brought to us by The Rev. Harrison Anderson, and his wife, who retired to Santa Barbara and worshipped in our Church. He served the Fourth Avenue Presbyterian Church in Chicago. This symbol of our faith, mounted in a granite stone base from Scotland, indicates our heritage, the sacrifice of Christ on the arms of the cross, and the encircling, never ending love of our Lord.
