On Wednesday, May 20, the Chariots of Friends made their way to the Santa Barbara Yacht Club to have their monthly luncheon. There were 38 eager participants. The day was a bit overcast, but it was still a lovely day for an outing. To find out how you can participate in the Chariots of Friends program, please contact Geri Willoughby. A huge thanks to the drivers, shotguns, and telephoners who make this event possible.

LIFE OF THE CHURCH

THE LOOSE OFFERING THIS MORNING will go to the Deacon’s Fund to aid in their ministry of caring.

THE FLOWERS this morning are dedicated by Doug and Carol DuCharme in celebration of Trinity Sunday and in honor of their three daughters. Following the service the Deacons will take the flowers to those who are unable to attend worship.

SPREAD THE WORD - KIDNEY NEEDED! Lea Williams was diagnosed with a rare disorder that attacks the lungs and kidneys. Lea is currently on dialysis but you may be able to help her to live a normal life. Call Lea at 965-8510 to hear her story. Prayerfully consider donating a kidney. For information on transplants visit: www.matchingdonors.com.

DIANNE FOWLER IS COACHING BOCCIA. Dianne spends much time coaching wheelchair tennis and organizing tennis tournaments. For those with cerebral palsy, for whom tennis is difficult, she has started teaching Boccia, a game similar to lawn bowling. Boccia is a Paralympic sport, so her athletes may be able to compete internationally for medals. Dianne and husband Dr. John Fowler serve in a Muslim World country.

THE PRAYER CHAIN is available to pray for your needs. In the Narthex and Fireside Lounge are Prayer Boxes provided by the Congregational Care Ministry. Please place a request form in the box, email Chuck at: ccurtis@fpcsb.org or call 687-0754 x102. Requests are kept confidential.

CHANGING FOUNDATIONS is a Reader’s Theatre play, written by Ann Braithwaite, that follows the progress of the First Presbyterian Church through all four of our building sites to the present site on Constance Avenue. Actors perform with script in hand. There is a Fashion Show, a play within a play of fashions from Corset to Girdle depicting changes in society reflected in dress during the past 140 years. The play will be performed on June 2 1 s t at our 14 0 t h Anniversary Celebration. If you have any period clothing to lend, we would greatly appreciate it. If you have feathers, odd jewelry, long skirts or any other materials going to and through 140 years, please, help us. Ann Braithwaite, 745-5533
