Helen has worked with young children for more than 40 years. She has a Masters in Child Development Services and has been Director of our Center since 1991.

    Maria has worked with children for 13 years. She joined us in 2001. She has her AA in early childhood education.
    "I believe every day we have an opportunity to grow and we need to keep our minds open to ask for help, share our thoughts and observe."

    Katie brought 10 years of experience to her position here at our Center. She joined our staff in 2011. She has her B.A. in Child Development.
    "I have an open mind and respect each child as an individual person. I set up an environment so each child feels inspired to explore their world in their own unique manner."

    Martha has her BS in human development. She has 16 years experience working with children. She has been at our Center since 2004.
    "I am very proud of the fact that we focus on relationships here. The relationships that we have with the parents and children are a very important part of our program."

    Kaori has worked with children of many ages for 22 years. She has a Masters in Art and over 40 units in Early Education. She joined our Center in 2009.
    "I like to observe children and then I want to provide appropriate activities for their growth. I give minimal help when they really need it and follow their interests with mindful love."

    Elizabeth has worked with young children for over 6 years. She has her B.A. from UCSB and is completing her early childhood education units at Santa Barbara City College. She joined our staff in the fall of 2010.
    "Being with children is the one thing that always makes me smile & laugh. I am often in awe of what children do. I love that every day is a new experience."

    Emma has worked with children since she was very young. She has her AA in Early Childhood Education and joined our staff in the fall of 2010.
    "I think that it is important to let children make discoveries. I like to have a calm & positive attitude and enjoy the developmental process. I really enjoy experiencing the path of each child's development."

    MaryJo has 16 units in Early Childhood education. She worked for a year at the lab school at City College before joining us in 2009.
    "I very much appreciate that I have finally found my passion in life. I believe that children should be taught in an outdoor classroom. I feel very strongly that our children need the outdoors, a sense of freedom. Mother Nature is a very good teacher. Children at a young age need space; you can't share what you don't have."

    Olivia has worked with very young children for 10 years and joined our program in 2008. She has completed 16 units in early childhood education and is continuing to take classes.
    "The thing I enjoy most about teaching is being a part of the children's lives while they are increasing their knowledge, especially when they are learning to talk."

    Elia worked with children for 14 years before joining our staff in 2011. She has completed 24 units in Early Childhood Education.
    "I decided to be a teacher because I love children and I would like to show the children the best of myself."

    Kahori had 4 years of experience working with young children before joining our staff in 2011. She worked in Japan, Switzerland, and the United States. She has her certificate in Early Childhood Education.
    "I believe that I am patient and I find it very important to always respect children and to build strong relationships with them. I observe children closely, so that I can support their individual needs and provide an environment in which children can freely explore and learn on their own."

    After working in her Sunday School & in her children's classrooms for years, Sandy decided that she wanted to be an early childhood teacher. She has her B.A. in Art Studio & she is completing her early childhood education units. She joined our staff in the fall of 2010.
    "I am a lifelong learner. Children are naturally curious and eager to learn. I am excited to be a part of their early education, creatively nurturing their love of learning with respect & through relationships."
