Following a career on the New York
stage as conductor, coach and pianist, Nelson C. Huber (b. 1949) matriculated at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, graduating in 1986 with
a Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music. After graduation, he served St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, in La Jolla, California, for five years as
Director of Music and Organist, and as Artistic Director of the St. James Music Series. He returned to Westminster Choir College, graduating in 1993 with the
Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting. He was recruited to Santa Barbara by All Saints by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Montecito, where he led the music
program there for seven years. Through the kindness of Julie Neufeld he joined the music staff at First Presbyterian Church, Santa Barbara, as Interim Organist,
in 2001. He was named Music Director and Organist by Pastor Peter Buehler in 2002. Prior to the New York years, Nelson resided in Europe for four years;
attending school in Vienna, Austria, and working professionally in London, U.K. |
