Youth Ministries
Our Purpose:
The programs of the Youth Ministries department at First Presbyterian Church are designed to introduce your child to the love of God in Christ Jesus and to enable each child to find his or her place as a part of our congregation. Some programs are primarily intended to provide a safe, caring place for children to be while their parents work. Some are specifically intended to offer an opportunity for age-appropriate fellowship and Bible study. Finally, some are for support and nurture for families. Paid staff and volunteers provide leadership in all areas of the programs and your assistance is welcomed. Contact the program leader or department head if you are interested in volunteering in some way. We have implemented a screening process for all who work with our children and youth which is intended to insure the safety of each of the children committed to our care.
Our Youth Interns for the 2011/2012 Academic Year
Mallory Farrar: I'm a senior at Westmont College , pursing a degree in Religious Studies and Sociology. I'm the co-director of Westmont 's Urban Initiative ministry and am passionate about youth ministry. I have enjoyed working with junior high and high school students for years and I really love this church!
Chloe St. Marie: I am a SBCC student and grew up in Santa Barbara. I have been involved in Presby Camp every since I was little and have loved growing in the environment it provided. When Josh gave me the opportunity to intern at the youth group I jumped on it; I love the church and it makes me so happy to become more involved.
Matt Bradley: I am honored Josh asked me to intern with the youth group. I am happily married to my wife Joy, who I meet in architecture class in 2009. I work as a property manager of commercial / industrial buildings. I am excited to disciple young Men and Women in the Lord as we all are journeying towards our true home in Heaven.
We are so very blessed to have each of this three interns caring and and loving our students each week. I am so very blessed and grateful for the immense contributions of insight, leadership, and support Mallory, Chloe, and Matt continually provide. God has provided a great team working with our junior high and high school students here at FPCSB.
